Although there are only six days left until the session of the Belgrade Assembly, it is still not known if there is a majority for the election of the president. Mila Popovic, a member of the Freedom and Justice Party, said that they expect everything from the SNS, including buying advisers to stealing elections, and that the coalition Serbia against violence has a strategy for every possible scenario.
Regarding the formation of the majority in the city parliament, Popovic points out that even SNS councilors do not know what they will do on Monday because, as she says, Aleksandar Vucic is the only one who decides at the end of the day what will do.
"This government and the Serbian Progressive Party have shown in the elections that they have no shame and on Monday we can expect anything. We expect and there are many possibilities that they will add to the proven theft in the elections, the buying of advisers and the change of the electoral will of the citizens. Even in the last elections, they could not form a majority by themselves, but they immediately passed one, and then two more councilors of Zavetnik and in that way they ran the city for a year" , she says.
The MP from the Freedom and Justice Party also said that the "Serbia against violence" coalition has a scenario for any situation that may occur.
"We have a scenario for both situations. It is certain that as councilors we will fight for the cancellation of the elections, we will continue to witness the theft of the elections and we will protect the electoral will of the citizens of Belgrade ", she said.
When asked if they are thinking of obstructing the constitution of the City Assembly, Popovic said that all options are on the table.
"A while ago I said that everything depends on Vučić and that even they don't know what they will do on Monday. They weigh and see what is the smartest thing to do. If they decide to add the bribery of some councilors to the theft of elections, apart from legality they will not have legitimacy. Vucic himself said 18 months ago that the most important thing for a government is to have legitimacy, so last time when he lacked one councilor, they repeated the elections, now he lacks two", she explained.
