The Croatian President, Zoran Milanovic, has called for a boycott of the measures that are currently in place for Kosovo.
He accused the High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, who has undertaken the measures against Kosovo together with his team.
The Croatian president also said that in principle he is against sanctions when asked if the US and the EU should impose sanctions on Serbia.
"I am against sanctions. Even Kosovo is under certain sanctions. Sanctions are determined by the Security Council. They are contrary to international law.
I invite them to boycott them. The measures taken by the European Commission, by Mr. Borrell, who I hope will retire soon, are not measures taken by the Council of Ministers, but measures taken by the European Commission, by Borrell and his team, which prevent and threaten all of us to meet at several levels with representatives of Kosovo at a high level," he said in a joint media conference with President Vjosa Osmani in Zagreb.
He said that there can be no objectivity from "someone who is Spanish and who directs European policy towards Kosovo".
