Two cocaine shipments were discovered by Greek authorities in the ports of Thessaloniki and Piraeus.
Specifically, 45 plastic packages containing a quantity of cocaine were seized in Piraeus, with a total gross weight of 53,778 kilograms.
Meanwhile, at the port of Thessaloniki, AADE inspectors discovered over 62 kilograms of cocaine inside a container of bananas originating from Ecuador and destined for the port of Thessaloniki.
Specifically, during the checks at the First Customs of Thessaloniki, using an X-Ray machine, 55 packages of cocaine were found and seized, which were hidden in the cooling mechanism of the container with fresh bananas. The value of the seized cocaine is estimated at around 2.3 million euros.
Greek police have begun collecting data and evidence, as well as investigations to identify and capture the perpetrators.
