The US denies claims it had information about the October 7 Hamas attack

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby insists US intelligence was not aware of any secret, advanced Hamas plans for its October 7 attack on Israel.

The New York Times reported last week that Israeli authorities obtained such a document a year before the attack took place.

"Our intelligence community is looking into this. There was no indication that we, the United States intelligence community, had any prior knowledge of that document," Kirby said.

Meanwhile, Israel has withdrawn its team of negotiators from Qatar after it claims that Hamas has not fulfilled the agreement to release the hostages, according to a statement issued by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.

"The terrorist organization Hamas failed to fulfill its part of the agreement, which included the return of all women and children held hostage, in accordance with a list sent to Hamas and approved by them," the statement said.

Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, around 15,000 Palestinians in Gaza and 1,200 Israelis have been killed.

Hamas during the attack on Israel took 240 hostages, whose release was used to reach a temporary ceasefire agreement between the two sides and the release of some Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.

But the ceasefire ended a few days ago after the parties failed to reach a compromise between them. So far, Israel is intensively bombing Gaza, where more than 200 victims are reported. Meanwhile, in Israel, numerous protests are being held by the relatives of the hostages to reach an agreement, as they are afraid for the safety of their family members.
