Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat who is part of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has reacted to the White House's decision to halt military aid to Ukraine.
In a post on the social network X, the American Democrat writes that this is a shameful abandonment.
"A shameful abandonment of Ukraine. This decision will not make our country safer. It will embolden Putin and our opponents, while weakening our relations with democratic partners," she says in X.
Peter Welch, another Senate Democrat from Vermont, has also expressed his concern about X.
"Putin is a war criminal. Zelensky is a hero. Trump is weak," he says.
