"The US is not involved," Trump on Israeli attack: Iran does not have nuclear weapons

US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that he was aware in advance of Israel's plans to attack Iran, but reiterated that the US was not involved.

Trump stressed that Washington had notified at least one key ally in the Middle East that the attack was coming. The US president declared that the US was ready to defend itself and Israel in the event of retaliation by Iran.

"I always hope for negotiations. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon," Trump said.
