Mossad Director David Barnea stated on April 14 that the Israeli intelligence agency has conducted operations "in the heart of Tehran" during the recent military campaign undertaken by the United States and Israel against Iran.
His statement was made during an event for Holocaust Remembrance Day, where he highlighted the importance of intelligence in support of air operations and national defense.
"We provided accurate information to the Air Force and shot down missiles that threatened Israel," he said.
Barnea announced that the operations are not considered completed, hinting that the agency's plans extend beyond the current phase of the military confrontation.
"We did not consider that this mission would end immediately with the end of the fighting. We planned intensively so that our campaign would continue and produce results even after the attacks on Tehran," he said.
He added that Mossad's strategic objectives are related to long-term developments in Iran, describing the agency's responsibility as ending only in the event of fundamental political changes in the country.
"Regime change in Iran is our mission. We will not stand passively in the face of another existential threat," he added.
The Mossad head's statements come in a context of ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, where security issues and the Iranian nuclear program remain at the center of international concerns.
