Former president Donald Trump has restarted his campaign after the gun attack. He appeared in Michigan, as he commented on the assassination. He said the Secret Service made a mistake on Saturday, July 13, when he was injured during a rally in Pennsylvania.
"Nobody said it was a problem. They could have said let's wait for 15, 20 minutes, 5 minutes. Nobody said. I think it was a mistake," he said.
Trump said on July 13 he took a bullet for democracy and rejected claims that he will implement the so-called "Project 2025", which means more powers for the president, a reduction in civil rights and tough policies against immigrants.
"I don't know what Project 2025 is. I mean, they're really extreme, but I don't. I don't know anything about it," he said.
But the former Republican president seems to admire dictators such as the Russian Vladimir Putin and the Chinese Xi Jinping.
He admits he gets on well with Xi Jinping, whom he calls a "brilliant" person who "rules 1.5 billion people with an iron fist". "They are intelligent, they are tough. They love their country, we need someone to protect us. And Orbán was right, we need someone to protect us," Trump said.
On the other hand, it seems that Biden is being ignored publicly by his party.
