Scandal in Montenegro, the head of the majority immersed in corruption schemes

A few days before the parliamentary elections in Montenegro, a high-level scandal broke out.

The head of the largest party in the country, the Party for European Integration of the president Jakov Milatovic, is involved in a financial scandal.

Milojko Spajic, the head of PES has been denounced by the Montenegrin media as the person who is protecting one of the biggest international cryptocurrency fraudsters, namely the Korean De Kwon.

This has brought a strong internal debate in the President's Party and a strong reaction from the entire politics of Montenegro. It is interesting that, apart from the opposition, ie the party led by Milo Djukanovic (DPS), the entire group of majority parties have severely condemned this scandal.

All the parties of the pro-Serbian grouping consider the scandal serious, hoping to get the votes of the gray electorate, which voted massively for Jakov Milatović as President of Montenegro, in the first round. It should be noted that Milatovic has just been invited to make an official visit to the US by Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, also intervened in the debate, who not only did not defend his political ally, but considered this a serious scandal.

As reported by the biggest newspaper of Montenegro, "Vijesti", Abazovic has made it clear that we are dealing with a scandal.

" Let me just say for the sake of the citizens - this is not about a drug trafficker or some drug addict from Zabjela or another part of Montenegro, it is about a man who is accused of having embezzled 40 billion dollars and who is wanted by the authorities authorities of the USA, South Korea and in which the FBI is particularly interested. I think bringing it into context with anyone in Montenegro, especially on the public stage, is not good if it is true ," he stated.

Abazovic asked the prosecutor's office to immediately investigate the case. He said that the Government and the Prime Minister are responsible for protecting the national interests of Montenegro from the involvement of various criminals.

" I don't want to target anyone, our duty is only to protect the national interests of the state. We cannot become a breeding ground for the fraudsters of the world, even if it was about blockchain or anything else. Anyone who wants to work legally, transparently, visibly, without money laundering, is more than welcome. Anyone who imagined something else should face the state authorities of Montenegro and this applies to everyone ," said the prime minister.

In the parliamentary elections of Montenegro, 542,468 citizens have the right to vote. A rather small number, when the change is made with even one vote. / Pamphlet
