
After the attack of the largest dam in Ukraine, the water level has risen ten meters and several islands downstream are already completely flooded. Foreign media report that according to preliminary forecasts, the reservoir should be emptied in the next four days.
Ukrainian authorities have published a map of the flow of water online, where according to them some of the settlements are expected to be under water after the flow reaches its maximum size.
The head of the pro-Russian Municipal Administration, Vladimir Leontiev, stated that the damage to the hydropower plant in Kakhovka was caused by Kiev's shelling and that it caused serious damage to the environment.
"The water has risen, it continues to rise. Within 72 hours, according to forecasts, it will begin to fall. The city is flooded, Dnipro Avenue is already under water. This means that the water has risen by more than 10 meters. " said Leontiev.
Meanwhile, Kherson regional head Oleksandr Prokudin warns that water levels in the Dnieper River will be "critical" within five hours. He called on the residents to leave the dangerous areas immediately. The evacuation of the population in the Nova Kahovka district, which is located on the banks of the Dnieper River, began after the Kahovka hydroelectric dam collapsed.
