Two more resignations due to the scandal with agricultural subsidies in Greece. Specifically, the secretary of the New Democracy agricultural sector, Andreas Karasarinis, and the member of the party's political committee, Yiannis Troullinos, submitted their resignations.
Both "blue" leaders sent resignation letters to the secretary of the party's Political Committee, Kostas Skrekas. According to reports, the 3,000-page file, which was forwarded to Parliament this week, includes the following dialogue, which comes from a telephone conversation on January 8, 2025, between Andreas Karasarinis and Kyriakos Babasidis (who was forced to resign by the Minister of Rural Development, Kostas Tsiaras, in November 2024):
Conversation
MK (Bambasidis Kyriakos): Andrea
KA (Karasarinis Andreas): Order
MK: The judge's scenario we talked about
KA: Yes
MK: I started listening to it again on different channels.
CA: I can't, I can't hear you well?
MK: I started listening to the courtroom script again a while ago, did you hear it?
CA: Well, I stand by what I told you.
MK: Yes
CA: I don't know if it didn't work well, but it was neglected from the beginning.
MK: Yes
CA: Look, mom, those because you don't know, because you started with the sixteenth and the rest.
MK: Yes
CA: Now, cutting this whole process short while this work is done is a mistake, anyway... huh?
MK: Yes
KA: Well, I told you to only talk to Maximou because they fix things, there's nothing like the trio there: Skertos, Gerapetritis, Voridis
MK: Yes
KA: And no president, no one else
MK: Yes
KA: So, I don't think Nezis can do anything and that's it... and from the party, I don't think that at this moment neither Maria nor Smirilis can step in.
MK: Yes, yes.
KA: You understand that they say this will happen and it will happen. For better or worse, they have left everything to Voridis.
MK: Yes
CA: Do you understand?
MK: Yes
CA: Well, for me, call Makis or whatever his name is? The payments are good, so let's go ahead, I think you'll find...
