US President Donald Trump has stated that he is in line with Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the war against Iran.
Trump was asked about his relationship with the Israeli prime minister after Israel's Channel 12 reported that the pair had a "long and dramatic phone call" overnight without giving further details. He further stressed that he has no problem with the Israeli prime minister and that the latter would do anything he asked,
"He'll do whatever I want. He's a very, very good man ," the US president told reporters at an air base in Maryland near Washington.
Netanyahu further joked about a possible run for prime minister in Israel.
" I'm 99% convinced in Israel now. I could run for prime minister. So, maybe after I do that, I'll go to Israel and run for prime minister. I had a poll this morning ," Trump said.
Yesterday, Trump repeated claims that the war would end "very soon," after saying he called off a new strike that would have ended the ceasefire. Today, the president declared that there was "no rush" to reach an agreement.
"We would have to open the Strait [of Hormuz], it would open immediately. So we will give it a chance ," he said.
