War scenarios back on Trump's table: From large-scale operations to

Plans for attacks, control of the Strait of Hormuz and special operations in Washington's focus...

The United States has prepared new military scenarios against Iran in an attempt to break the deadlock in negotiations. According to three sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, quoted by international media, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has drawn up a plan for a "short and powerful" wave of attacks.

The plan envisages strikes on critical infrastructure in Iran, with the aim of increasing pressure on Tehran and forcing it to return to the negotiating table with a more flexible stance, especially on the issue of its nuclear program.

Another option expected to be presented to President Donald Trump involves taking control of part of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important corridors for global oil trade. According to one of the sources, such an operation could also include the deployment of ground forces to guarantee freedom of navigation.

At the same time, the possibility of a special forces operation to secure Iran's enriched uranium reserves, a key element in the country's nuclear program, also remains under discussion.

Regarding the current situation, President Trump stated that he considers the naval blockade of Iran “more effective than bombing” at this stage. Two sources said that the US administration currently sees this measure as the main instrument of pressure, but does not rule out military intervention if Iran does not change its position.

Meanwhile, US military structures are also assessing the risk of Iranian retaliation against US forces in the region, in response to the naval blockade.

According to the same sources, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, will also participate in an expected briefing. On the other hand, the White House has not commented on these developments.

It is recalled that a similar briefing was held on February 26, a few days before the launch of military operations by the US and Israel against Iran. According to sources close to the administration, that meeting influenced the decision to launch military intervention. / Adapted from "Protothema"
