Today and tomorrow (June 30 and July 1) in Skopje, North Macedonia, a meeting of leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkans will take place, focused on the Growth Plan.

At 9:30, the leaders of the Western Balkans are expected to arrive and be officially welcomed, while 10:00 marks the start of the first panel dedicated to the Western Balkans Growth Plan.

In this panel, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and EU Commissioner Marta Kos will give introductory speeches.

The Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, with a fund of 6 billion euros, was adopted by the European Commission on November 8, 2023 and is based on four main pillars:

Strengthening economic integration in the EU single market; deepening economic integration within the Western Balkans through a regional common market; accelerating fundamental reforms; and increasing financial assistance to support these reforms.

750 million euros have been allocated for North Macedonia from this plan.
