British Prime Minister Keir Starmer appeared relaxed and ironic in a public outing to French President Emmanuel Macron.
Starmer appeared at a comedy event in London, wowing the audience when he took to the stage wearing aviator sunglasses.
Starmer took part in the show "The Political Party Live", organized at the Duchess Theatre, where he gave an interview to an audience, briefly setting aside his strict political profile.
In a video he uploaded to TikTok, he appears to be offered a pair of sunglasses, which he puts on without thinking twice, saying "Bonjour", drawing laughter from the audience.
Davos reference and Top Gun line-up
The photo was a throwback to Macron's recent appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where the French president stood out wearing similar, eye-catching sunglasses. The British prime minister continued the mockery in the caption of his post, writing "Talk to me, Goose," a line from the movie Top Gun, which has been linked to the popularity of aviator glasses.
The joke sparked a warm response from the West End audience, with Starmer telling the show's host Matt Ford that he could even appear in them at international meetings. However, a little later, he joked that he would eventually need his regular glasses, as otherwise he would not be able to see what was going on in Parliament.
