Italy has been engulfed by rain and storm this afternoon. In Milan there was heavy rain and strong wind, which brought down several roofs of buildings and trees.
A 68-year-old man who was crossing the street was hit by a vase which was knocked down by the wind. He was sent to the hospital in serious condition.

Temperatures dropped by 11 degrees, from an average of 33 degrees before the storm began. The storm also caused damage to the transport network: in Milan, strong winds broke the cables of the electric tram network.
On the other hand, traffic on the Milan-Genoa railway line between Locate Triulzi and Certosa di Pavia has been interrupted due to the fall of the tree.
A storm of rain and wind also hit Brianza, in the area between Monza, Seregno and Rho. Also, one of the entrances of metro line 1 in Piazza Duomo was closed due to fallen stone slabs.
