Representatives of Fatah, the ruling party in the West Bank, and that of Hamas will meet to discuss the formation of a unified Palestinian government and the reconstruction of Gaza.
The Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki stated that no miracle is expected from this meeting, but added that there is a possibility of reaching an agreement.
" We hope that we can have good results in the sense of mutual understanding between all factions about the need to support such a technocratic government that will emerge. We do not expect miracles to happen only in a simple meeting in Moscow , but I believe that the meeting in Moscow should be followed by other meetings in the region soon" , he said.
The talks come as the Palestinian Authority, created nearly 30 years ago as part of the Oslo peace accords, seeks to challenge accusations of ineffectiveness.
