American President Joe Biden has called on American citizens to vote for Kamala Harris. He appealed to them to "make history" by choosing Harris as his successor.
"Go vote", writes Biden in a post for the "X" social network.
The US president withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris in July, as calls for his withdrawal intensified after a debate against Donald Trump.
Biden returned to the White House yesterday after spending most of the weekend in Delaware with a final campaign stop in Pennsylvania. He is spending his last day as president at the Washington mansion waiting to see if he will hand over power to his vice president or return it to Donald Trump.
First Lady Jill Biden is in Wilmington, Delaware, where she will vote in person before returning to join her husband tonight.
A White House official said the president and first lady will review the election results at the White House with senior aides and senior staff.
