According to Russian media, the perpetrator was arrested by police immediately at the scene. According to a statement from the ministry, the incident occurred in the shopping mall after an individual clashed with security guards. During the altercation, the suspected perpetrator opened fire, injuring three people.

TASS reports that the local police department received a call about gunshots in the Krasny Kit shopping center. Police arrived at the scene and detained the perpetrator, while the shopping center was evacuated.
