The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that he wants to maintain good relations with the countries of the European Union, but the interests of his country are primary.
Lukashenko also commented on recent tensions with Poland, which have resulted in the deployment of additional military forces to the border with Belarus, speaking at the national airport of Minsk, the country's capital.
So he said that the Polish government is escalating the situation to show its military strength, while adding that it is being pushed by the United States.
Regarding the normalization of relations with Warsaw, the Belarusian leader said that he suggested to the country's prime minister to hold a meeting with the Polish leader.
