Attempted coup, Wagner's mercenaries confess the secret meeting
Yevgeny Prigozhin and Vladimir Putin

A source of the mercenary group Wagner revealed new details about the last meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his former aide Yevgeny Prigozhin.

The Russian president summoned his former friend to the Kremlin 10 days after the military mutiny and coup attempt in Moscow.

The confrontation between them was fierce, as Wagner's soldiers confess, with harsh tones for a full 3 hours where the head of the Kremlin accused him of treason, something that Putin does not forgive.

Putin grilled Prigizhin for 3 hours in their private meeting, which the media never reported. After this meeting, Putin let Wagner's head go, and at that moment Prigozhin was convinced that he had escaped Putin's wrath.

In the article published by the prestigious Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, a member of Wagner confessed to the independent website Meduza, that Prigozhin had really believed that Putin would not kill him. He had even convinced himself that he was invincible and immortal.

And in fact this explains Prigozhin's dubious return to Moscow, even though many had predicted his fate after opposing Putin. He, along with his most important collaborators, including the military commander, the neo-Nazi Sergei Utkin, felt safe enough to travel on Prigozhin's private plane, not realizing that it would be their last 'flight' .

Russia's Investigative Committee confirmed, through DNA analysis, that Prigozhin was also on board the downed Embraer plane, along with six other passengers and three crew members. The most accredited thesis on Russian Telegram pages and channels, as well as by Western intelligence, is that the plane went down due to an explosion, possibly caused by a bomb.

As for the last fateful meeting in the Kremlin, Putin had summoned Prigozhin and his friends five days after the uprising. On July 10, spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the meeting, which was attended by 35 people. Prigozhin and his staff had given the president their "explanations" and Putin had reached a consensus with them. He had offered the others missions in the war and some options.

Peskov has dismissed as "absolute lies" the accusations made against Putin by opposition figures and Western media that he ordered the elimination of Prigozhin. But the truth, according to the Wagner militia, is quite different and there is no need to even doubt it. According to one of the members, Wagner wants revenge, and they are even ready to march armed to the Kremlin, as a response to this act of Putin.

"Many are furious, they want revenge, they are ready to march with weapons to the Kremlin," said one of them, who recently returned from Ukraine.

But Wagner's infamous band is left with no leader and an awful lot of disarray. Without a capable leadership to guide them and with pressure from the Kremlin it is quite difficult to organize a counter-response to Vladimir Putin.
