Surrey Police in southeast England have issued a public appeal for witnesses to come forward with information about allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault of a minor between 1994 and 1996 in the village of Virginia Water.
Authorities said they were made aware of a redacted FBI report that contained allegations of trafficking and sexual abuse. Police said they did not have records of these allegations in their files due to limited information in the document.
The announcement does not mention specific names. British media reported that the report mentions Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell, the late associate of American financier Jeffrey Epstein.
According to reports, an anonymous witness claims that a woman was tied up and tortured with electric shocks while other people were present. Authorities have not confirmed further details about this claim.
The US Department of Justice released a batch of documents related to the Epstein case in December, sparking fresh international reactions. Following the release, British police are reviewing the information contained in the files and any new elements that may emerge.
Prince Andrew has previously faced sexual assault allegations from Virginia Giuffre, who claimed he had sex with her when she was 17. He has denied the allegations. In October, he was stripped of his royal titles over his links to Epstein. Giuffre died in April 2025.
In parallel, Thames Valley Police is investigating other allegations relating to Andrew's time at Royal Lodge. Other investigations are looking into trips to the UK arranged by Epstein and matters relating to Andrew's previous role as an international trade envoy.
Surrey Police are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
