The Greek government has declared three days of national mourning after the tragedy with 79 victims from the flooding of the boat with immigrants, at noon today.
Greek media reported that at least 79 migrants lost their lives, with over 700 suspected to have been on board.
"The Prime Minister announces three days of national mourning from today, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 9:00 p.m. to Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 9:00 p.m. for today's victims," the announcement published by the office states . of the prime minister.
We recall that the event took place about 75 km southwest of the southern Peloponnese region of Greece. Meanwhile, 104 migrants were rescued, and 4 of them were reported to be in serious health condition.
