Ukraine appears to have depleted the weapons stockpiles around the country that have been supplying it for more than a year. According to reports, the UK is currently at an impasse as it lacks the manufacturing capability and supply chains necessary to produce the weapons needed to meet its own and Ukraine's needs.
This is what the British Minister of State for the Armed Forces said, James Heappey, who further emphasized that in recent visits, he has seen a decrease in global reserves.
" It's a problem in the UK. I don't think this is a surprise to anyone, but I think that collectively around the donor community we have to find weapons for Ukraine. It is also true that after 18 months of me and my colleagues traveling the world buying all this stuff, global stocks have dwindled. It's a good time to be in the defense industry and UK-based defense companies are clearly responding to the demand signal as you would expect," he said .
