German police are looking for a Russian citizen who threw a Ukrainian minor off a bridge because he dared to speak in his native language.
Investigators at the Göttingen Prosecutor's Office are treating the politically motivated attack as attempted murder, which was carried out last week against a group of children sitting on a bridge in the small German town of Einbeck, all of whom spoke Ukrainian.
The Russian man, believed to be in his 40s, threw the little boy off the bridge before picking up a glass bottle and hitting him on the back.
He then fled the scene and the other children told their parents about the incident, which prosecutors are treating as attempted murder.
