United States President Donald Trump stated that the US administration is not close to making a decision on sending US troops to Iran.
In an interview with the New York Post, Trump said that no decision has been made so far on the possibility of deploying US military forces on Iranian territory to secure uranium reserves.
" We haven't made any decisions on that. We're not even close ," he said when asked if he was considering sending troops to Iran.
The American president also commented on political developments in Iran, reiterating that he is not satisfied with the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as the country's supreme leader.
When asked about his plans for the new Iranian leader, Trump did not elaborate. “ I’m not going to tell you ,” he said, adding that “ I’m not happy with him .”
