Trump blocked the trade of Venezuelan oil, Maduro challenges the US: Illegal and
Trump-Maduro

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has challenged the United States over the trading of Venezuelan oil, calling US President Donald Trump's announcement of a "total blockade" of Caracas' oil tankers "illegal and warmongering."

Speaking during commemorations marking the 195th anniversary of Simón Bolívar's death in Caracas, Maduro stressed that Venezuela will continue to freely trade its oil, adding that it belongs only to the Venezuelan people.

"Caracas will continue to freely trade its crude oil: "Oil and all natural resources belong only to the Venezuelan people," Maduro stressed.

Maduro called for unity, appealing to ordinary people, social movements, political forces and the Colombian military to form a perfect union with Venezuela to defend regional sovereignty. According to him, Bolívar's ideals today form the basis of Venezuela's political doctrine and development plans.

"Bolívar is the force that stops empire: 195 years after it was planted, his ideal is a wall against those who today dream of conquering us,"  he declared, chanting the slogan "Children of Bolívar, never slaves" and repeating that "peace is built through unity."

Maduro accused Washington of trying to change the regime in Caracas to impose "a puppet government" and denounced the US naval presence in the Caribbean.

The Venezuelan president stressed the rejection of any military escalation, adding that "peace is built through unity" and reaffirming his vision of a "Gran Colombian" union in defense of sovereignty and the "Bolivarian dream."
