Reporters from multiple news organizations have been denied permits to be part of former President Donald Trump's election night vigil in West Palm Beach, Florida, in retaliation for their coverage of the Trump campaign.
Reporters at Politico, Axios, Puck, Voice of America and Mother Jones were among those denied credentials. Some, like Politico, were previously granted access to Tuesday night's event but have since reversed the decision.
Politico's team of reporters and a photographer were initially approved to attend the event, but were surprised Tuesday morning to find they had been denied credentials, a person familiar with the matter told CNN.
The person suggested the decision was made in response to an article in Politico magazine that reported a Trump campaign field director had been fired for being a white nationalist.
A Politico spokesman declined to comment. Puck's political correspondent Tara Palmeri was also scheduled to cover the event as part of Amazon's election night special hosted by Brian Williams. But around the time Palmer published an article about "anxiety" within the Trump campaign, her credentials were denied.
