Donald Trump

United States President Donald Trump warned that any country that tries to "play games" with the Supreme Court's latest ruling on tariffs will face much higher tariffs and harsher measures.

His reaction comes days after the Supreme Court invalidated a significant portion of the tariffs his administration had imposed. Trump again sharply criticized the decision and accused the court of "supporting China."

"Going forward, (Supreme Court judges) will make decisions in favor of China and other countries," he wrote on the Truth Social platform.

Trump stated that the latest decision, in his opinion, has given more powers to the presidency than it had before. He described the decision as wrong and with negative consequences at the international level, opposing the limitation of his powers in the field of tariff policy.

According to the American president, even after the Court's decision, he can continue to use executive authorities to take strong measures against countries that, according to him, have benefited for decades from trade relations with the United States.

Since Friday, Trump has called the Supreme Court's decision "wrong" and "harmful." In his latest response, he criticized the majority of the justices, while excluding from criticism the three members who voted against the decision.

The President also emphasized that, according to his interpretation, there is no need to seek new approval from Congress to impose tariffs, arguing that the relevant authorization has long existed and that the latest decision has, indirectly, reconfirmed it.
