Trump rejected Iran's "wish list," the plan they agreed on

The White House has stated that former President Donald Trump has rejected the conditions publicly presented by Iran for ending the conflict, describing them as unacceptable and without a serious basis for negotiations.

Spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said the ten-point list released by Tehran as a peace plan had been "literally trashed" by Trump and did not constitute a real offer. According to her, the plan was "fundamentally not serious."

Leavitt noted that, in subsequent developments, Iran presented another condensed version of the proposals, which was “consistent with the 15-point American plan.” She added that this private plan was “completely different” from the published one.

"The idea that President Trump would accept an Iranian wish list as a deal is completely absurd," Leavitt declared, underlining that there is a huge difference between public positions and those Iran presents in closed talks.

She also confirmed that US red lines remain unchanged, particularly the demand that Iran not be allowed to enrich uranium, due to the risk of its use in nuclear weapons.

According to Reuters, Iran had publicly proposed a package of ten conditions, which included the withdrawal of US military bases from the Middle East and the imposition of a $2 million tariff on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In the initial announcement of the ceasefire, Trump had stated that the Iranian proposal could serve as a “workable basis” for negotiations. However, he later clarified on the Truth Social platform that only a limited set of points were considered acceptable to the US and that these would be discussed confidentially during the negotiations.
