Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has called on Joe Biden to resign as president after arguing that top Democrats "forced" him out of the 2024 vote.
"If Joe Biden is not fit to run for president, he is not fit to serve as president.
"He needs to resign immediately. November 5th can't come soon enough ," Johnson said.
Johnson then accused Biden of invalidating the votes of Americans who elected him as the Democratic nominee, saying that this was contrary to the values of democracy.

He also criticized Kamala Harris, saying she also had a hand in the president's "policy failures" over the past four years.
