The commander of the Ukrainian armed forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has warned of new attacks from Russia.
He said a new Russian offensive is expected in the Kharkiv region, a key area in the northeast of the country, which has been constantly at the center of fighting since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022.
According to Syrskyi, Russian forces have intensified their efforts this summer, slowly advancing on some sectors of the front line and carrying out continuous attacks with large numbers of troops. The general said that Russia is trying to take advantage of its numerical and technological superiority.
Another tense area remains the northern region of Sumy, where Russian troops have built up a limited presence in recent months.
Through a post on Telegram, Syrskyi announced that he spent two days in the Kharkiv region, where he held meetings with field commanders, inspected defensive positions, and assessed the operational needs of the army.
"The Russians are trying to advance through force of numbers, but we must respond with effective tactics and the use of modern technologies to stop them," he stressed.
