Billionaire announces the founding of his own party...

Billionaire Elon Musk has decided to officially challenge Donald Trump. He has just announced the official formation of his own party, which will be called the American Party.

Yesterday, Musk posted a poll on “X” asking for opinions on whether or not he should form a party. And the majority of his 1.2 million followers voted in favor. And he responded a few minutes ago by announcing: “ By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you will have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste and corruption, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the American Party is formed to give you back your freedom .”

This step is expected to once again ignite clashes with Donald Trump, who has reacted harshly to Musk several times for such an initiative.

According to the Guardian, the new political party proposed by Elon Musk could focus on taking over some important seats in Congress. The billionaire said yesterday that the 'American Party' will try to secure accessible seats in the House of Representatives and Senate to decide on big issues.

Musk's posts on Friday came after he spent $277 million of his fortune supporting Trump's victorious 2024 presidential campaign. The Republican president rewarded Musk by appointing him to head the so-called "department of government efficiency," or Doge, which abruptly and chaotically cut jobs and various government programs while claiming to save $190 billion.

But Doge's actions may have cost taxpayers as much as $135 billion, according to an analysis by the Partnership for Public Service, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to studying the federal workforce.

Musk left Doge in late May and was recently angered by Trump's support for a spending bill that would increase the U.S. debt by $3.3 trillion. He threatened to financially support any incumbent congressional candidates who supported Trump's spending bill, along with promising to "form the American Party" if it passed.

The House of Representatives voted 218 to 214 in favor of the bill. In the Senate, Vice President JD Vance broke a 50-50 tie by voting in favor of the bill, which Trump signed into law on Friday, hours after Musk released his poll of party-affiliated Americans.

Trump has warned Musk, originally from South Africa and a naturalized American citizen since 2002, that directly opposing his agenda would cost him dearly personally. The president, who has recently pursued mass deportations of immigrants, has publicly discussed deporting Musk from the U.S., as well as cutting government contracts for some of his companies. /Pamphlet
