Iran's security chief, Ali Larijani, has warned United States President Donald Trump that the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will have serious consequences for Washington.
His reaction comes after the American-Israeli attacks on Iran, during which the Iranian leader was also killed.
In a post on the X platform, Larijani wrote that Trump "has dragged the American people into an unjust war with Iran," accusing him of being influenced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to him, the US president's decision is the result of what he described as "ridiculous games." "Does America still come first, or Israel?" Larijani wrote.
Meanwhile, tensions in the region have risen sharply since February 28, when the United States and Israel launched a series of wide-ranging strikes on targets in Iran. Since then, attacks have continued in various areas of the country.
On the other hand, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that Washington was aware of Israel's plan to strike Iran. According to him, the US was forced to act in advance due to the risk of possible Iranian attacks on US forces in the region.
