Iran has released footage purportedly showing the moment ballistic missiles hit the Muwaffaq Salti air base in Jordan, killing two American soldiers and wounding several others.
Following this attack, the United States announced the launch of a new wave of bombings against Iran. The US Central Command, CENTCOM, stated that the operations were carried out on the orders of President Donald Trump.
According to CENTCOM, the attacks are intended to weaken Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and directly strike the Revolutionary Guard, which Washington accuses of attacking American personnel in Jordan.
Iranian media outlets MEHR and Tasnim reported that the US bombings hit areas in Sirik, a port city near the Strait of Hormuz. State news agency IRNA also reported attacks near Hajjabad, in the southern province of Hormozgan.
US authorities confirmed that two soldiers were killed, several others were injured, while one soldier remains missing after the Iranian missile and drone attack.
