United States President Donald Trump ordered US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Saturday, July 18, to intensify military operations against Iran after two American soldiers were killed during Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan.
According to US officials, the order was immediately followed by a new wave of airstrikes on Iranian targets, marking more than a week of uninterrupted military operations against Tehran.
The escalation came after the Pentagon confirmed the deaths of two American service members and announced that another remains missing following the Iranian attack in Jordan.
According to official American sources, Trump asked CENTCOM to "open the gates of hell" on Iran in response to the killing of American soldiers.
Another US official stated that the latest military operation would be "much broader and more powerful than previous nights", signaling a further intensification of the US military campaign against Iranian targets.
