Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that it is wrong that many people in Serbia are rejoicing over current events regarding Greenland, assessing that the American takeover of that island would cause complete chaos in the world, after which neither NATO nor the European Union (EU) "can easily exist," because it is a large territory that now belongs to the EU.
"I'm not happy, because if Greenland is opened, dozens and dozens of such issues will be opened. Apparently, it's being played in someone else's backyard and it will be played again in our backyard, which I would like to avoid as best we can," Vučić said on the Informer television program.
Vučić said that numerous raw materials are extracted in Greenland and that they are the cause of numerous conflicts.
In this context, he also mentioned the issue of lithium exploitation in Serbia, which caused numerous protests.
"We are a unique case in the world, we don't want to use what we have despite the whole world, I think we are smarter than others and we know that our waters will be orange, and others don't know that, so they will go to war for those raw materials," Vučić said.
