US authorities reported that there were shootings, involving federal agents, in Minneapolis, where a major immigration operation is underway.
Video posted online shows a large presence of federal and local police officers, yellow police tape and cars involved in a collision.
The commander of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rushed to the scene.
"We are aware of a shooting involving law enforcement in the vicinity of East 34th Street and Portland Avenue. Please avoid this area," city authorities reported via X (formerly Twitter).
No further details were given regarding the incident.
The video shows citizens whistling and challenging federal officers, telling them to leave.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday it has launched an emergency immigration enforcement operation, sending 2,000 agents and officers to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area for an operation related in part to fraud allegations involving residents of Somali descent.
The Immigration Defense Network, a coalition of organizations serving immigrants in Minnesota, held a workshop Tuesday evening for about 100 people who are willing to take to the streets to monitor federal operations.
