Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced the name of the representative for the composition of the new Serbian government, appointing Gjuro Macut as Prime Minister.
"In our country and in our Serbia, unity, peace and stability are needed. Due to the tensions that exist in our society, we are not able to see all the dangers and problems. The situation in the region is very difficult, especially the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where decisions were made against the President, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Prime Minister ," Vučić said.
Gjuro Macut was born in Belgrade and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. He specialized in reproductive medicine and biology at the University of Geneva and the World Health Organization.
From 2015 to 2023, he was a member of the Expert Council of the University Clinical Center of Serbia, Serbian media write.
"Very calm, quiet, tolerant, patient and probably the greatest expert in the field of endocrinology from Vienna to Istanbul. For the pride of the state of Serbia, he will be the first doctor at the head of the government since 1948. Now all that remains for me to do is solemnly sign it ," Vučić said, among other things.
Vučić said that Serbia's new government will be elected by Friday and it will be a big task for them to continue to maintain peace and not use force until the last moment.
" My recommendation to the president would be to choose people who want to fight and push forward, regardless of the fact that they stole our country for five months. Let's go back to EXPU and so far 88 places have applied for participation ," Vučić said, adding that there was a long discussion about the potential prime minister.
