Moscow's military has carried out about 390 bombings since the Easter ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin came into effect yesterday and until midnight. This is according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who gave the figures this morning on Telegram. "Between 18:00 yesterday and 00:00 today, there were 387 bombings and 19 strikes by the Russian military. The Russians used drones 290 times," the head of state said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky implicitly acknowledged that the Easter ceasefire announced by the Kremlin had become effective in large areas of the front, but reported numerous ceasefire violations by Russia and denounced "isolated" enemy attempts to advance in some parts of the contact zone.
"In general, this Easter morning, we can say that the Russian military is trying to create the general impression of a ceasefire, while in some areas isolated attempts to advance and inflict casualties on Ukraine continue," Zelensky said after receiving a new report from Ukrainian army chief Oleksandr Sirsky.
The Ukrainian leader also gave some figures - showing how many attacks there have been, for example, in some areas of Donetsk and in one area of the Zaporizhzhia front - and reiterated that Ukraine will lay down its weapons when Russia does. He also insisted on his proposal to extend the Easter ceasefire to 30 days.
Zelensky reiterated that the Ukrainian military will continue to act "symmetrically," "depending on the specific combat situation" in each area.
