
A large fire has broken out in Rome in the area of Monte Mario, after the Court of Appeal that has spread throughout the area.
Large plumes of smoke can be seen from footage, while four buildings, the astronomical observatory and the RAI headquarters have been evacuated.
The flames are very close to houses as well as in Ponte di Nona near the Roma Est shopping center.

Ten firefighting teams intervened with the support of two tankers and civil defense vehicles. The Drago VF159 helicopter was also involved in extinguishing the flames. Evacuation of buildings was necessary due to heavy smoke and flames.
Multiple firefighting teams intervened on the site around 13:00, while the police closed the access roads to the Panoramica and Trionfale areas, also around the Olympic Stadium, to allow rescuers to contain the fire that also threatens several apartments.
