One of Putin's top aides and top Russian negotiator, Kirill Dmitriev, has reposted a message published by President Donald Trump on the social network TruthSocial, which presents demands for Ukraine ahead of US talks with European leaders on Monday.
Kirill retweeted Trump's statement late Sunday evening, in which the US president said Ukraine could end the war if it accepted some of Russia's key demands, including handing over Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed in 2014, and pledging never to join NATO.
"(Trump) and his team are working on a real solution. May problem-solving and peace prevail on the Great Day," Dmitriev wrote on X, referring to Monday's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
A delegation of European leaders will join Zelensky in Washington, in a coordinated effort to support Kiev and influence the future of Western support for Ukraine.
Kirill, who is also the head of Russia's sovereign wealth fund, was among several Russian officials who accompanied President Vladimir Putin to Alaska on Friday to meet with Trump in a closely watched summit. Although no deal was reached during the meeting, the Trump administration said that significant progress had been made.
