Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha made a very strong statement on Thursday in a TV show, where he signaled that Ilir Meta could also go to prison.
As he tried to threaten the prime minister by drawing a parallel with what happened in Tunisia, he said that the leaders of the biggest opposition parties were arrested there. So the signal was that it is Meta's turn after him, while we also have Fatmir Mediu who is going to prison.
"I inform the Albanians that 10 days ago the president of Tunisia was elected in Tunisia, who, like Edi Rama, arrested the leader of the largest opposition party, then the leader of the second largest opposition party and thirdly the leader of the party the third who had dared to run. Edi Rama thought that with violence and terror against the opposition he will get the fourth mandate, but I guarantee that his calculations are very wrong ", said Berisha.
But when will Meta's arrest happen? It has been talked about for years that he will be arrested today and he will be arrested tomorrow, but SPAK continues the investigations. Meanwhile, Meta himself seems withdrawn, compared to the time when he was sulking every day in press conferences attacking "Dum Duman".

But this time it seems he can't throw it away. There are several files being investigated by SPAK. The file that scares Meta the most is undoubtedly that of the CEZ-DIA affair. There was a lawsuit against him by the lawyer Romeo Kara and SPAK questioned him a few days ago. Until now, evidence and testimony have been collected that burden Ilir Meta's positions.
Another file that is being investigated is that of lobbying in the USA. The suspicions are that when Meta was the chairman of LSI, he spent nearly 500,000 dollars on lobbying in the USA, money that has not been declared anywhere. Even this amount has many mysteries about its origin.
SPAK is also investigating Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi for numerous aesthetic interventions. The published invoices show that they have spent nearly 300,000 euros for weakening and other interventions, but the amounts in question have not been declared in the ILDKP.
Their property is also being investigated. SPAK has launched a property investigation and scanned properties inside and outside the country. It is learned that it is precisely this investigation that is delaying the closing of the file, as assets have been found in the name of third parties that are being verified.
