The votes of Tirana municipal councilors to dismiss Erion Veliaj, on Tuesday afternoon, are much more than a blind obedience of a few people without morals to their prime minister.
Anyone who tries to analyze the facts of how Lali Eri got here, to attribute the reasons for his imprisonment, his empowerment in the party, or the danger that Rama felt from the group that Erioni had gathered around him, is mistaken.
Rama has a different kind of fear from Erion Veliaj. His fear has nothing to do with power or the risk of losing it to Erion.
Edi Rama sees his own image in Erion Veliaj. And this is the biggest nightmare for a dictator like him.
Erion Veliaj was dismissed by unanimous vote from a Municipal Council that had built him with the care of a mother for her offspring. A political figure without a center, without ideals, without morals, without clear flags, some coming from the headquarters of Ilir Meta, some from Rama, some from Mjaft and programmed to cheer him on whenever Lali needed it.
Just like Rama's people.
They voted to dismiss him from office on the grounds of absenteeism and did not even accept to listen to their former boss. They denied him the right to defend himself. It seems paradoxical for the country where Albania has been reduced to, to defend the thesis of human rights or that of the presumption of innocence! The same people who remained completely indifferent when 5D was discovered and they, together with Lali, shrugged their shoulders in denial and wondering as if they knew nothing. The same people who signed and applauded for the garbage treatment concessions that do not exist, for the construction mafia that has filled the squares, the municipal enterprises divided according to clans, remained silent.
Just like Edi Rama with the thieves on his team.
Erion Veliaj has many sins to answer for. There is evidence that he collaborated with the most dangerous mafia in the world, that he abused billions of lek from the state budget, but he is in prison for his wife's dresses and underwear. He has been deprived of his freedom even though he had all the legal rights, not just to be tried free.
The same formula was used for him as for any enemy of Edi Rama.
Erion Veliaj, on Tuesday afternoon, was finally burned as a public and political figure. Now the court's decision has little or no importance. He will never be able to recover from the cartoons of his former loyal people who sold the day for the sun to the worst monster of power. Because he ate him, his mother's doppelganger, the spiritual inspirer, the example he followed point by point to create his own political figure, just as monstrous as the one who created him.
Erion Veliaj did not realize in time that he had become the incarnation of his spiritual father, Edi Rama. His tactical mistake in this creation was not the ugly spectacle he gave every day, nor the theft.
What Erion Veliaj did not calculate is that dictators like Edi Rama cannot accept that their image can breathe and have life. This is their worst nightmare.
