From Vučić to his clones; New Europe can no longer tolerate rulers who collaborate with the mafia and talk about reforms...
It's not just a protest. It's not just an outburst of civic anger over a tragedy that could have been avoided.
What is happening in Serbia today is the first serious warning that the era of Balkan autocrats, petty emperors, who rule by fear, deceit and in alliance with the mafia, is coming to an end. Aleksandar Vučić is not just an isolated figure; he is the most perfect symbol of a model of governance that has degraded democracy in the Balkans into a farce, where power is treated as property, the state as a family business and the people as a collective hostage.
The protests that have erupted in Serbia are not a political crisis, they are a moral revolt. They are the echoes of a people saying: enough! And what gives this movement the historical weight it deserves is the fact that it is no longer afraid. Serbia is waking up. And with it, an alarm signal is being sounded for the entire Balkans: what worked yesterday, no longer holds water today.
The West will no longer tolerate pseudo-dictators who descend on Brussels with a smile and return to their countries denigrating the opposition, suppressing the media, and sharing tenders with drug lords.
Aleksandar Vučić is experiencing this in real time. A president once considered a regional “stabilizer” now hides behind conspiracy rhetoric, afraid of his own people. He calls the protests “terrorism” because he has no other language to communicate with his citizens than violence. And as he tries to hold on to power with an iron fist, the world is staring his sins in the face.
The international silence so far will not last. No one will embrace a leader who has lost control, not only of his country, but of reality.
This is the beginning of the end not only for Vučić, but for the entire Balkan political caste that has built its careers on the ruins of institutions, on patronage, manipulation and fear. This system is worn out. It is no longer effective or justifiable. And not even useful for the Western strategic alliances that have decided to bluntly tell the Balkans: Europe is no longer a club where you enter with false papers and shady connections. Whoever wants integration must be cleansed. Not only from crime, but from the feudal mentality that sees power as a fiefdom and the people as sheep.
Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and every other corner of this region should read this moment well. There is no more time for political calculations. Either you are with the citizens and democracy, or you are with the model that is dying before our eyes. This is the moment to make a historic separation: with the old Balkans, or with a future worthy of Europe. Because Europe will no longer open its doors to those who behave like provincial bosses, who rule through underground networks, who co-govern with the financial mafia oligarchy.
The end has begun. Serbia is the first fire. These are the last months of an era. And whoever does not understand will burn with it./ Pamphlet
