For Irfan it's a decision, for others a warning

For Irfan it's a decision, for others a warning

Unfortunately, it cannot be said that what happened today on the outskirts of Tirana is an unprecedented case. We have seen a similar scene, once, somewhere, with another television, with another owner, non-Albanian, and which cost the Albanians 110 million euros. Exactly ten years ago, the same scene happened with Agon Channel and Francesco Becchet. The television was attacked, destroyed, closed and the calls of its employees were neither heard nor shown by anyone.

The scenario repeated itself.

On the morning of August 9, 3 media outlets were attacked: News 24, Balkanweb, and Panorama TV. As if it were a scene from North Korea, police forces, and then the army, entered and presented what they found.

Irfan Hysenbelliu was destroyed for the second time. 3 years ago, Edi Rama, using an alibi that no one believed, destroyed the business built with his blessing. Today he destroyed the media.

The Albanian Prime Minister fulfilled the oath he made three years ago in a phone conversation with his former friend, a media owner, "I will melt you down."

In vain did the journalists and employees scream. Although they had been receiving their salaries late for some time, the violence was heartbreaking. In vain did dozens of others show solidarity. The police circle did not play its part. This state has become so arrogant that the Albanian Police did not even deign to give an explanation to the public. The morning of August 9 was chaotic, no one understood what was happening and why!

No clarification was given later or ever.

Only at lunchtime, from the lawyers' statements, did it become clear that this was a conflict, without a conflict. It was learned that although Irfani could keep the building for a few more years on paper, a government decision had decided to build a weapons factory there.

This still remains to be clarified, while the real scandal is hidden elsewhere.

The real scandal is essentially the demonization of a man who has taken an entire country hostage. Although it is still unknown where the roots of this event that turned two friends into sworn enemies lie, the truth is that Edi Rama has gone too far. He destroyed a businessman and closed 3 media outlets. No one can swear that this kind of violence was the only solution. On the contrary.

But we live in Albania where autocracy is turning into dictatorship, and Edi Rama is the man who knows its mechanisms perfectly well.

Edi Rama never strikes, neither in vain nor by chance. He could have built a weapons factory on the outskirts, far from populated centers and prying eyes, as was supposed to happen. But no! He wanted Irfan and through Irfan to kill two birds with one stone: to eliminate the man who got out of line and to give a message to others. Whoever does not obey will have the fate of Fane.

Why there is a media in the middle is of no importance. For the new dictator of the Balkans, the end justifies the means, and his goal is to subjugate everyone and everything. When the police are not enough, the army comes in.

Top Channel, Klan, and whatever comes after them must understand that the message is for them: if they do not serve the benefactor who gives them state property, building permits, and strategic investor licenses, the end is known.

That's why today none of them did. Except for one opposition television station, no one even bothered to report.

For Irfan it was a decision, but for others it was a warning./ Pamphlet
