The World Bank predicts difficult times for economies, including Albania!

The World Bank predicts that Albania's economy will grow by 3.2 percent this year. In the "Global Economic Outlook 2024" report, it is estimated that in the Region, Kosovo will be the country that is expected to lead the economic growth with 3.9 percent, followed by Albania together with Montenegro. These expectations are more pessimistic than those of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, which expects an expansion of the Gross Domestic Product by 3.7 percent.

"A figure of 3.2 percent, in the current conditions of national, regional and wider development, at the international level, remains a relatively good figure to be evaluated in terms of development, despite the fact that it remains far from what would bring development of literally economic" , said expert Elvin Meka.

Economic growth in the Western Balkans is expected to be supported by the increase in consumption, the decrease in inflation, the gradual recovery in the Eurozone, the increase in public spending on infrastructure projects financed by the European Union and income from tourism. How much are these predictions for Albania?

" The figure of 3.2 percent is the only positive news, since if we read it in s lines, the growth does not come from all sectors, but only from 2 sectors which are construction and real estate activities ", said Meka.

" The global economy is on track to record its worst half-decade of growth in 30 years," says the report, which warns of "difficult times" for all. Global GDP expansion is forecast to slow for the third year in a row, to 2.4 percent from 2.6 percent a year ago.

" There is a kind of global slowdown that is particularly affected by the slowdown in the economies of China and the United States of America ," the expert emphasized.

The World Bank warns that the escalation of the current conflicts in Eastern Europe, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the war in the Middle East could spread to the world a strong, almost destructive price crisis./ A2CNN
