The government has postponed the salary increase for the administration. Although the wage law went into effect immediately, the government does not have the decision that enables the increase for each category ready. This means that there will be no additions to the salaries for the month of May either, but all administration employees will receive the normal salary they have received so far.
It is not known if this also applies to the MPs, as it would be a scandal if the MPs get a raise and the administration remains on hold. The news was announced by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, who did not say for sure when the allowances will be passed. She said that whenever they pass, the increase starts from April.
" We approved eight decisions of the Council of Ministers, but there were discussions. We will take a little more time, since there are over 200 institutions of the administration that are affected by these decisions and over 130 thousand employees, whose salaries were approved in April, the clarification of the decisions takes a longer time.
This is also the reason that in order to be more coherent and to cause as few delays as possible in receiving salaries, we have asked all budgetary institutions to prepare the necessary documentation in order for the salaries of May, in the first phase, to pass as were before the reform came into force. Some of the institutions that are affected by the law that passed the parliament, we decided that the salaries as a whole will go as they were in the month of May and with the clarification of the decisions, we will include the necessary documentation in order for the salary supplements to be applied either for April and May ", she declared.
So asked if there is any initiative for the living minimum and how pensions will be indexed, she stated: " We will index pensions for the non-indexed period. Last year we took September inflation into consideration, while next year we will take the average indexation of the basket for pensioners, from October to September of the next year .
