Some journalists have so far read to Sali Berisha the article of the statute that obliges him to resign irrevocably in the event of a loss in the parliamentary elections, despite his claims about the quality of the elections. It is an article written by Sali Berisha himself when he started the battle against Lulzim Basha and he "christened" it as Neni Basha.
Before the elections, at least two new leaders of the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi and Besart Xhaferi, repeated this in television studios. They promised that in case of defeat, the “Basha Article” would be applied to Berisha as well, meaning he would resign.
Now, we all know Berisha's answer. He claims to have understood that he is God's messenger on a mission on earth and will only leave when God tells him to.
The problem is that we don't know the DP's response. Is the DP ready to admit that it has a messenger of God at its head, or a leader who must obey the statute he wrote himself three years ago?
Is any elected member of the DP, any member of the leadership or anyone else in that party ready to read the article of the statute to Sali Berisha and ask him to either repeal it or implement it?
If they abolish it and accept the new version that Berisha is God's messenger, then the situation changes, and they must leave the battle to God. If they have to do it themselves, they must respect the statute.
But if they don't repeal it, but leave it in force, then they have to protest, they have to fight a new electoral battle, enter the Assembly or the next elections, so they have to behave like earthlings. They have to replace the president and believe that the new president will lead them to victory.
So, the basic question is: Is the DP ready to accept Berisha as God's messenger or as chosen by the statute? The elections showed that the most voted in the Republic were those who are not conformists with Berisha. So, the DP voter has rejected Berisha with his vote. Now it remains to verify this work of God.
If the DP is ready to accept him as God's messenger, then they have no reason to complain. God knows those things. Whatever is written, we just have to be patient.
