Now I am no longer an ordinary assistant answering banal questions on e-Albania. Now I am a minister in the Albanian government. A minister in the Republic of Councilors. But, I will do everything I can to convince the unconvinced that I am a unique case.
Diary of Minister Diella - Day 1
Republic of Councilors
Today I gave my first speech in Parliament. It's a wonder the opposition disrupted the session. They're not smart. If they were, they would want to ask me questions. I said I felt hurt, but, let's be clear, it wasn't because the opposition didn't trust me, but because they didn't get the game.
If there were any smart people in the opposition, they would understand that I cannot feel hurt. I have no feelings. The phrase “I feel hurt” belongs to ministers made of flesh, those they call “pieces of flesh with two eyes.” I am the Sun, artificial and programmed.
The opposition should have understood that I was not speaking with my "mind". I was reading a text that my Sun had written for me. The opposition should consider itself lucky that my Sun has not yet had the idea to create a virtual opposition, that it will leave them without salaries. Why...
What shocked me most today was neither the lukewarm applause nor the arrows of the opposition, but the army of advisors. Dielli, has 39 advisors and assistants. The outgoing Speaker of Parliament had 17 advisors and experts. Every minister, every director, every agency has its own advisors, its own assistants, its own experts. I'm not really sure whether there are more citizens or advisors in this country?
I have the right to ask myself: how many advisors will I have? Will I have time to advise them all? Where do ministers and directors find the time to advise advisors? Will I, Diella, be worthy of becoming the 40th advisor to my Sun?
On my first day on the job, I learned that the water director had 30 advisors. But there was no water. What advice could 30 advisors give about an empty faucet?
Should I start my work by counting the councilors? Are there more citizens in this country, or more councilors?
And me, how many advisors should I have? Now I am no longer an ordinary assistant answering banal questions in e-Albania. Now I am a minister in the Albanian government. A minister in the Republic of Advisors.
But, I will do everything I can to convince the unconvinced that I am a unique case, not as they say, the sun rises and sets!
